6th May - AppSense Ltd., a specialist in application performance management, today announced a strategic alliance with Expand Networks Inc., a leading provider of Application Traffic Management systems. Under the agreement, AppSense and Expand will engage in joint sales and marketing campaigns to increase the performance of customers’ wide area network (WAN) applications and server-based computing environments.
The agreement, which builds on the two companies’ combined customer experience, will allow AppSense and Expand to share complimentary distribution channels and new business opportunities. Both companies will work closely together to identify and address performance problems arising both on thin client servers and the corporate WAN.
One of the companies’ joint customers, Makro - the national network of wholesale food and non-food cash and carries - welcomes the alliance.

The AppSense Performance Suite enables us to increase the performance and capacity of our server environment whilst Expand Accelerators have helped us to increase the capacity of our WAN, while saving us approximately £700K compared to the recurring costs of leasing additional bandwidth. The alliance will be critical in helping address server and WAN performance issues common to the server-based computing market.
