I have always loved the IT industry, it’s fast paced, cutting-edge and exciting. When I moved up to Liverpool in 2005, I was lucky enough to get a job interview for the support team at AppSense.

I’ve always felt there’s so much opportunity for growth and development here at AppSense. Having started as a support member, I moved to various different roles over the years, including support team leader and technical service manager. You are always encouraged to spread your wings and grow.

I’ve been with AppSense for almost 6 years and it has and continues to be a great journey. I could bore you all with some background about me getting a first class honours degree in Geographical Information Systems which included a 3 month stint in St.Lucia testing water, but I won’t. With my career sights set on continuing with IT I joined large corporate Reed Elsevier and spent the following seven years there. After that time I moved to Chester with no job secured but soon after the usual rigmarole of adding my CV to JobServe I received a call from a recruitment consultant telling me about an exciting, fast paced, up and coming company called AppSense who were looking for a Service Delivery Manager. After looking at the AppSense website, I thought AppSense had a great suite of products with masses of potential on the services side. After two gruelling interviews late on a Friday afternoon with Charlie I was offered the role and joined on the Monday. As Service Delivery Manager I was responsible for the move of both internal IT and technical hotline support to 24 x 7, introduction of gold, silver and bronze support contracts, as well as the birth of myAppSense. As these functions naturally grew into their own departments I was asked to move over to help the development team work through the software lifecycle and improve areas of inefficiency within projects. This is where I reside today as Head of the PMO for development working with the Director of Dev, Project Leads, Technical Leads, Developers and QA. As a team we have been through some tough development cycles but over the last 18 months with the introduction of ‘agile’ we are delivering quality software at the right time.

AppSense for me pushes the boundaries of software development whilst using agile methods to ensure that our customers get timely releases of quality software. I am extremely excited by the new brand and am very much looking forward to my exciting journey with AppSense continuing.

Stuart Gomez TestimonialI was hired by AppSense in October 2008, just before the start of financial crises. I was looking to start a new chapter in my life, following a career in badminton for 3-4 years, which climaxed with representing Australia at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in August.
